Christy Smith had an entrepreneurial dream...and a pretzel rod.
A family tradition of dipping pretzel rods into caramel and then into chocolate turned gourmet in 1999 when Christy saw the opportunity to expand upon this simple, but tasty treat. Using this basic pretzel, now known as the Plain Jane, Christy added ingredients such as nuts, and dried fruits, as well as various cookies and candies to create such unique flavors as S'more, Harvest, Pecan Pie, Macadamia Nut, Raspberry Almond, Candy Cane, Coffee Bean, and Junior Mint, to name a few.
Eight years, more than fifty flavors, and two children later, Christy has developed her gourmet line of pretzels into a unique retail and wholesale business that allows her the freedom to spend time with her family while fulfilling a creative passion.
